Hollywood Casino continues revenue winning streak

Hollywood Casino Perryville continued its winning streak, with August  slots and table game revenues up nearly 18 percent from a year ago.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency announced the state’s four casinos generated $71,015,560 in revenue.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $7,680,518 from both slot machines and table games in August. Hollywood Casino’s August 2013 revenue increased by $1,164,096 or 17.9% from August 2012.

Hollywood has seen revenues pick up after taking a big hit with the opening of Maryland Live last year. The figures could mean the casino is picking up some business from areas such as New Castle County.

The Casino at Ocean Downs generated $5,976,444 in August. Casino at Ocean Downs’ August 2013 revenue increased by $305,739 or 5.4% from August 2012. The Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 slot machines at a track near Ocean City.

Maryland Live Casino generated $53,347,753 from both slot machines and table games in August. Maryland Live’s August 2013 revenue increased by $20,900,069 or 64.4% from August 2012. Maryland Live is near the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort in western Maryland generated $4,010,846 from both slot machines and table games in August. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $202.41 for slot machines and $1,643.83 for banking table games.

 

In a year-to-year comparison – excluding Rocky Gap Casino Resort, which opened in May – August 2013 casino revenue increased from August 2012 by $22,369,905 or 50.1%.
