Newark business co-owner facing charges of unlawful sexual contact with juveniles

The part-owner of a Newark ice arena has been charged for alleged unlawful sexual contact with two juveniles.

Newark Police identified the suspect as 47-year-old Scott J. Bicking of Mantua, N.J. He was  charged  in connection with two  incidents reported by  juveniles.

Police reported the investigation began on September 4th,  when a male, 14, reported that Bicking, – listed as owner of the Pro Shop at the Pond and part owner of the facility – had inappropriate physical contact inside an office at the arena off Marrows Road.. On September 5th, a second victim, a male, 13, also reported that he had been inappropriately touched by Bicking. The males said the incidents took place in the summer.

Further details were not released, due to the sensitive nature of the case, police said.

Bicking turned himself in to police detectives Friday.

Bicking was arraigned at JP Court #2 and given $12,000 secured bail with a no-contact order with The Pond Ice Arena and any person under 18 years of age. As of late Friday, Bicking is in custody a Newark Police headquarters .
