Kudos: Beebe, Peninsula Oil honored

The work  of Beebe Medical Center’s Marketing and Communications Department and Dean Design/Marketing Group has been honored with awards in two national health care industry marketing competitions.

National panels of judges evaluated Beebe Medical Center’s publications for execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal, and overall content.

The 30th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, a competition among healthcare marketing professionals, recognized Tunnell Cancer Center’s Cancer Survivors’ 2013 Calendar with a Gold Award. The Beacon, Beebe Medical Center’s quarterly marketing publication, was honored with a merit award in the Newsletter category.  The winners were chosen from nearly 4,000 entries.

In the  2013 Aster Awards competition, The Beacon, Beebe Medical Center’s quarterly marketing publication, won a gold award.

The Beebe Medical Center creative team on these projects included: Susan Towers, publication editor; Nancy Cummings, public relations coordinator, and Kelly Griffin, director of marketing and communications. The creative team at Dean Design included: designer Lisa Miley, director of health care marketing services at Dean Design/Marketing Group; Stephanie Whitcomb, vice-president of Client Services Dean Design/Marketing Group and art director. Freelance photographers were Kevin Fleming and Scott Nathan.

Peninsula Oil wins award

Peninsula Oil and Propane, Seaford,   has received Energi’s 2013 Excellence in Risk Management Award for their dedication to outstanding loss prevention and safety programs. Energi, a  provider of Insurance and Risk Management Programs to the energy industry, recognized Peninsula as being the “Best of the Best” within the industry at the annual Energi Risk Management & Insurance Summit in Orlando, Fla. In late May.

Peninsula  has been a family business since its founding in 1935 by John Emory Willey at its present location in Blades, Del. Peninsula Oil, which has been handed down from generation to generation, is now under the leadership of John Willey II, great-grandson of the original owner.

Peninsula Construction services arrived on the scene about 10 years ago, offering roll off dumpsters, portable restrooms and other products for homeowners and contractors. Peninsula also operates mini storage facilities in Blades and Dagsboro.

The newest Peninsula companies include HVAC sales and a Delaware based trash and recycling division.
