The business scene  is changing on Main Street in Newark,  with one piece of good news and the departure of a  tea and espresso spot

A Facebook post from Rainbow  indicated the  book and music business will likely  be sold and keep its name. The post came after a headline in The Review student newspaper indicated the store would close. The text of that story did not reflect the headline.

Earlier stories from the News Journal and Newark Post indicated the business might close if a buyer could not be found.

The Review also reported and a Facebook post from the establishment  confirmed that  T’Licious will close at the end of the month after six years  on Main Street.

Like Main Street Sliders, which closed earlier this spring, the owner reported that the uncertainties of the economy and matters concerning the current site of the business led to the decision.

Also believed to be a factor in the T’Licious and Sliders cases is competition from franchised businesses that can offer more name recognition, marketing muscle and sometimes staying power in a tough economy. The Review story touched on that topic.
