Newark Police are investigating a train-pedestrian death.
At around 7:25 a.m., a CSX train was travelling westbound when a 20-year -old male entered onto the tracks where he was struck by the train near the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue.
The victim in this morning’s fatal train collision has been identified as Nolan Sandlin,20, of Dover. Investigators determined that Sandlin, who was by himself at the time of the collision, stepped into the path of the westbound freight train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sandlin’s body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
