Goodwill, United Way open Bridgeville job center

JRC ribbon cuttingThe newly established Bridgeville Job Resource Center, which provides a broad range of services to Sussex County residents,  formally opened to the public in March.

In addition to helping local residents search job leads, create resumes and develop online job search strategies, the Bridgeville site also houses the $tand By Me initiative. This program is a partnership between Goodwill and the United Way of Delaware, and provides state residents with a personal financial coach and a toolkit to navigate the challenges leading to personal financial security.

The Bridgeville site will also offer the Beyond Jobs program, which provides an integration of career guidance and family strengthening services to help single mothers find employment. Cutting the ribbon at the facility in Bridgeville, from left to right are: Rev. John G. Moore, vice president of Resource Development and Strategic Partnership, United Way of Delaware; Goodwill CEO Colleen Morrone; John Rodriguez, Goodwill’s JRC coordinator; Zanthea Nichols and Alison David from Goodwill; and Mary Dupont of the $tand by Me financial coaching initiative.
