Fisker Automotive Inc. is furloughing staff after talks with Chinese automakers reportedly fell apart.
Two companies walked away from the discussions. Fisker was seeking investments as its plans for a mid-sized automobile built in Delaware were thwarted by the suspension of a federal loan.
Sources reported the Chinese companies did not want to build the automobile in Delaware. Suspension of Fisker’s lone product has not taken place in months, after the battery supplier for the hybrid vehicle went into bankruptcy proceedings.
