Allan Myers purchases Daisy Construction assets

MyersAllan Myers, a heavy civil construction and materials company  has purchased certain assets of the Daisy Construction and Edgemoor Materials, two companies based in northern Delaware. Myers is based in Montgomery County, PA in suburban Philadelphia.

The purchase includes two  hot mix asphalt plants in Elkton, MD.  and Wilmington. As part of the acquisition, Allan Myers will assume the companies’ existing construction contracts and will hire  nearly 200 former Daisy/Edgemoor employees.

Daisy was founded in Delaware  by Leonard Iocono, nearly 40 years ago, after he got out of the service. The company grew into a regional player in the heavy-highway side of the business.

Edgemoor Materials consists of two asphalt plants that support Daisy Construction projects and outside customers. As of the acquisition, Allan Myers has five regional offices, five aggregate quarries and 14 asphalt plants in the Mid-Atlantic region.
