Ott named  CEO of PJM

PJM Interconnection announced that Andrew L. Ott will become new president and CEO later this year.  Ott presently is PJM’s executive vice president of Markets. Current PJM CEO Terry Boston had announced his plans to retire on Dec. 31.

PJM operates the regional grid that serves Delaware and  other areas of the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

Ott will assume his new post later this year following a transition period. During that time he will work closely with Boston and meet with PJM stakeholders including members, state and federal regulators, employees and industry leaders.

An 18-year veteran with PJM, Ott has extensive experience in energy market restructuring, including electricity market design, operations, power-system engineering and system planning.

In his position as executive vice president he is responsible for executive oversight of the PJM Market Operations, Market Strategy, Member Training, State Relations, Customer Relations and Performance Compliance divisions.

He was responsible for implementation of the PJM wholesale electricity markets including the PJM Locational Marginal Pricing, Financial Transmission Rights, Day-Ahead Energy Market and Capacity Market systems. He also serves as a board member for PJM Technologies and PJM Environmental Information Services.

Ott serves on the board of directors of the Association of Power Exchanges. He is chair of CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems) Study Committee C5 on Electricity Markets and Regulation and serves on the CIGRE Technical Committee.

Prior to joining PJM, Ott was employed by GPU, Inc. in transmission planning and operations.

He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in applied statistics from Villanova University.

Nason Construction promotions

Nason Construction, Inc. has announced that Laura McLaine has been promoted from Marketing Coordinator to Marketing Manager in the company’s Business Development and Marketing department and Brian McMillin has joined the company’s Preconstruction department.

McLaine has a record of implementing new strategies to drive sales, reduce internal and external costs, and increase profitability.  Her background is in creative marketing, graphic design, commercial sales, and process improvement.  She has been with Nason Construction since 2013, and  provides support to their corporate headquarters as well as all regional offices to assess and coordinate all Business Development and Marketing activities such as proposal responses, sales collateral production, presentations, social media, website administration, and CRM system management.

McMillin has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, including on-site supervision, project management, and preconstruction services.  He brings exceptional talents to preconstruction with conceptual estimates, comparative cost studies of alternative materials and methods (value engineering), budget monitoring, subcontractor selection, bidding, and purchasing. Brian is an expert in leading design-build and master plan services; he also provides excellent conceptual estimating when a specific project approach has not yet been fully developed. He incorporates his experience with similar past projects while intuitively navigating the many options that would create a successful project.

Bode named area manager

Integrity Staffing  announced the promotion of 20 year HR industry veteran, Ken Bode who will now serve as the company’s Area Manager and will oversee sales and operations for the company’s New Jersey, Delaware, Indiana and Kentucky markets. Bode’s promotion will provide the support needed for this growing division and will allow for the expansion into additional markets in the future.

Dishman joins firm

The Debbie Reed Team, a Rehoboth Beach, Re/Max office announced that Daryl Dishman  has joined their team.

Daryl has seven years’ experience as a licensed  Realtor, and is a Delaware Five Star Realtor Award winner. He currently serves on the Sussex County Association of Realtors  Multi-List Systems (MLS) committee.

Bittman named  sales director at convention bureau

Jessica Bittmann, CMP has joined the Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau as Director of Sales. She will be responsible for marketing Greater Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley area to meeting planners in the Association and SMERF markets.  Her focus will be bringing meetings, conventions and special events, including weddings, to the area. Bittmann will also be responsible for the Group Tour market.

Bittmann has been in the hotel industry for 13 years and has experience in the tour and travel market, catering, corporate group and transient sales. She received her Certified Meetings Professional designation in 2010. She is a member of the Business Travel Association and has served on special event committees with Meetings Professional International. She is also involved with the local chapter of Meals on Wheels.

River and Bay names airport manager

Delaware River and Bay  Authority officials announced the appointment of Felipe A. Rodriguez, of Philadelphia to manage and supervise airfield operations at the Millville Airport (MIV).  Rodriguez began his duties on March 27  and reports to Stephen D. Williams, Director of Airports for the DRBA.

Rodriguez began his aviation career in 1999 at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), where served as an Operational Coordinator/ Shift Lead for an airport ground handler before moving on to airport operations at PHL.

A graduate of Absegami High School and the University of Maryland, Rodriguez has also earned an MBA and an MPA from Wilmington College and Widener University respectively.  Certified in aviation management through the Community College of Baltimore County, he is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), where he is currently a candidate for accreditation.  He is also certified in both basic and advanced airport safety and operations through the AAAE’s Airport Safety and Operations School (ASOS) in Buffalo, New York.

Hamby joins Emory Hill

NAI Emory Hill , New Castle, announced  that Adam Hamby has joined the firm as a commercial real estate agent.

Before joining NAI Emory Hill, Adam was a partner at a small commercial real estate firm which focused on sales, leasing, valuation and consulting services. He became a licensed real estate agent in 2003 and currently holds licenses in Delaware and Pennsylvania.

His background in real estate includes serving as managing partner of a real estate investment firm focusing on land acquisition and as past owner of a real estate investment company which focused on East Coast resort assets.  Adam also has extensive stock market valuation and trading experience and is an associate of RLS Associates, the oldest and largest boutique investment bank in Delaware.

Hamby currently serves on the Board of Directors at Community Powered Federal Credit Union (formerly Delmarva Power and Light FCU) and he serves the Mid-Atlantic Wine and Food Festival as Treasurer. He is also a member of Commercial- Industrial Realty Council (CIRC).

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Delaware.

Wilmington Trust promotes Breg

Wilmington Trust appointed Fredrik Berg as vice president of sales for its Global Capital Markets team in Europe. Based in the firm’s London office, Berg will focus on business development in the Nordic Region and select European jurisdictions.

Berg joined Wilmington Trust in 2014 as a relationship manager for loan agency services clients across Europe. Previously, he was a loan agency relationship manager with the Royal Bank of Scotland, based in Singapore, and served clients throughout Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe.

He earned a Bachelor of Commercial and Business Law from the University of Linköping, and a Master of Laws from the University of Stockholm.

Beal  named director at Allen Harim

Allen Harim, a producer and processor of chicken on Delmarva, announced Todd Beal as director of quality and food safety.

Beal will be responsible for ensuring that a consistent quality product meets or exceeds customer expectations and all regulatory standards.  Beal, a Maryland native,  has served in a variety of capacities over the past 25 years, having started his career at Perdue Farms in Salisbury, Md.

Most recently, Beal served as director of food safety and quality assurance for Hain Pure Protein in York, Pa.

Beal holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Maryland.

Wohlsen employees certified 

Two Wohlsen employees received certification from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) this year,. The new recipients of the Healthcare Construction Certification (HCC) are Vice President and Project Executive Steve Davies and Superintendent Jim Del Vecchio. 

Senior Project Manager Dave Marsden received his Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) certification from the American Hospital Association.
