Citing a lower rate of respiratory illnesses in the community, starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, patients, visitors, and staff at all Beebe Healthcare locations will no longer be required to wear a mask.

Patients and visitors who feel more comfortable wearing a mask at a Beebe should continue to do so, and team members will wear when if requested.

Masks will be required in certain scenarios, such as patients experiencing respiratory illness symptoms or who have tested positive for Covid-19 within the past ten days. Visitors who are sick or who have been exposed to someone who is ill are advised to stay home. Hand hygiene practices are also suggested.

Beebe Healthcare and Beebe Medical Group will continue to monitor levels of respiratory illnesses and risk for exposure, a release stated.

Beebe Healthcare is a not-for-profit community healthcare system. Beebe Healthcare has three campuses: the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, which houses the medical center; the Rehoboth Health Campus; and the South Coastal Health Campus.
