Coast Rehoboth Beach, Tapestry Collection by Hilton submitted plans to the City of Rehoboth Beach for an additional dozen guest rooms to the property.

The owner cited a surge in demand at the recently re-developed boutique hotel located in downtown Rehoboth Beach.

A downtown advocacy group recently honored Coast for its redevelopment of the property with a 2023 Rehoboth Beach Main Street Cottage & Town Award for “Large-Scale Commercial Renovation.”

Coast Hotel amenities incude on-site dining, rooftop indoor pool, outdoor patio with firepit, 24-hour fitness center, golf cart transportation to and from the beach, on-site resort inspired activities and access to bike rentals.

“With the ever-evolving consumer landscape, we have quickly realized a shift towards guests prioritizing their overall health and wellness habits while visiting Rehoboth Beach,” stated Vince DiFonzo, president, of TKo Hospitality.

Featured enhancements include yoga mats, Peloton bikes, sound machines and upgraded bedding. Enhanced ADA accessibility will also be created within the planned 12 room addition. The hotel reported demand for group travel from corporate and business guests associated with the nearby Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

If fully approved, the construction of the 12-room expansion would commence immediately. It is the owner’s intent to have Coast remain open for business safely while the planned new 12 room addition is being constructed.

The planned additional 12 rooms will require no additional impervious surface or additional parking.

“The transformation of this hotel property has helped provide an immediate economic impact to downtown Rehoboth Beach and because of this revitalization, it is also a wonderful place to stay and experience,” said Thomas J. Hanna, CEO of Harvey Hanna & Associates Inc., developer of the hotel.

The hotel’s restaurant Sirocco showcases Southern European cuisine featuring local ingredients.

The new guest rooms will feature more space and include enhanced designs with new health and wellness inspired amenities. Coast opened its doors to guests on July 25 after a year and a half renovation of the former SandCastle motel.

Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a portfolio of over 100 hotels with unique styles.

Winter rates run from $120 (early week) to $140 a night (weekends).

The beach town is seeing a hotel boom with developments moving through the approval process. One high profile project is a hotel project from the owner of Grotto Pizza at the former site of boardwalk mainstay Dolle’s Candyland.
