Work continues on a major overhaul of the St. Georges Bridge over the C&D Canal. on Route 13 (Dupont Highway).
The bridge will receive a new deck after decades of uncertainty on its future after the opening of the nearby William B. Roth Bridge on Route 1.
Population growth has continued in the are making the bridge even more essential.
Completion of the project is about a year off, according to Army Corps of Engineers, the owner of the bridge over the canal.
