The Coast Rehoboth Beach Tapestry Collection by Hilton Hotel is now taking reservations for stays beginning in mid-August.

The boutique hotel is owned by Newport-based Harvey, Hanna, and Associates and managed by its affiliate, TKo Hospitality.

Harvey Hanna developed the Hyatt Place and Lighthouse, restaurant, banquet and condominium complex in Rehoboth Beach and the Hyatt House in Lewes. Harvey Hanna also developed and owns a Hyatt-franchised hotel in Kent Narrows, MD.

TKo manages other hotels and restaurants in Newark, Ocean City, MD and Pennsylvania.

The 60-room Rehoboth Beach property is at the site of the former Sandcastle hotel near the beach and boardwalk. The hotel underwent a year-and-a-half renovation project.

The hotel site will also include the Sirocco Restaurant serving Mediterranean food. Coast Rehoboth will also have a rooftop-outdoor patio bar near its swimming pool.

The hotel is part of a trend toward hotels with individual personalities operating under the franchise flags of industry giants like Hilton.

The August high season rates will run more than $400 a night, dropping into the $150 range late in the year.

Rehoboth and coastal Sussex is seeing a hotel construction boom, with planned projects moving through the approval pipeline. The boom is being spurred by more year-round activity and a surge in population.
