Out & About Magazine and The Newark Partnership are bringing back the Downtown Newark Food and Brew Festival for the 19th times.

The festival, presented by Chase Bank, will take place on Saturday from noon-7p.m. at 13 locations in the college town.

“The Newark Partnership is thrilled to sponsor Newark Food & Brew for 2023,” says Mark Arehart, executive director of TNP. “The event is one of Newark’s most loved summer events. From classic neighborhood staples to new Delaware favorites, you’ll find surprises up and down Main Street and beyond.  Make sure to stop by and do some shopping at our local retailers, too!”

Food and Brew showcases more than 45 craft and imported beers paired with creative food offerings from a dozen of Newark’s restaurants as well as the craft beer retailer The Delaware Growler.

Unlike most beer festivals, this is a pay-as-you-go event that takes place in the restaurants. In addition to food and drink, a collection of Newark retailers will be offering special discounts during the festival as part of the Hops & Shops Sidewalk Sale.

“The Newark Food & Brew has become a rite of summer,” said Jerry duPhily, publisher of Out & About Magazine.“When we partnered with the City of Newark to create this event more than 19 years ago, craft-beer-focused events were a novelty. Today, they’re commonplace. But the beauty of this event is that it encourages guests to explore Newark and visit the many participating restaurants. It’s an ideal showcase for the city’s dining scene.”

CleanEartz to open in Dover

Clean Eatz is planning to make its official Dover debut in the next few months.

The couple opening the first Clean Eatz in Delaware, Ryan and Andrea Maloney, said the decision to open the franchise came from years of e difficulty in finding healthy meals for their family.

According to a release, both were drawn to the franchise after stumbling upon an existing location while traveling with family. Having spent more than two decades in the local healthcare field, Andrea said she was acutely aware of the value that the Clean Eatz menu could bring to the market.

Founded in 2011, Clean Eatz offers “chef-curated, nutritionist-approved meals.” Customers will be able to order meal plans every Tuesday through Sunday on the Clean Eatz website to have healthy meals prepared on their behalf and shipped for delivery.

“Clean Eatz is a proven and capable brand that’s been providing for communities around the country for years. And with the weight of importance Dover places on wellbeing now is the perfect time to bring the franchise here,” Ryan stated. “What’s more enticing than that is the opportunity Clean Eatz will afford our family to positively impact and support the livelihoods of families and individuals all throughout the Dover and Wilmington area.”
