Delaware Humane Association (DHA) and Delaware SPCA completed a rebranding process and announced the of their newly combined organization, Humane Animal Partners (HAP).

Former Delaware Humane Association Executive Director, Patrick Carroll, will serve as CEO of the new organization while Anne Cavanaugh, former Executive Director of Delaware SPCA, will serve as Chief Operating Officer.

Over the past year, the organization engaged a core team to oversee the rebranding process and retained the marketing firm, Aloysius, Butler, and Clark (AB&C)—one of the largest full-service agencies in the mid-Atlantic, with strong roots in Delaware—to help guide the process, a release stated.

The organization has sites in Stanton-Christiana, Wimington and Rehoboth.

The Delaware SPCA also faced the issue of being confused with the Brandywine SPCA, which handles animal control work for the State of Delaware and has locations in all three of the state’s counties.

Delaware is the only no-kill shelter state. That status comes when more than 90% of shelter animals are not euthenized.
