·A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday for the newest Snow Joe fulfillment center.
The center south of New Castle and near Delaware City is expected to employ about 100 and will feature robotic picking and automation that puts away pallets.
The Snow Joe location at 794 School House Road is part of the four-building NorthPointe Delaware Logistics Center. The buildings total moe than two million square feet with access to Routes 13 and 1.
The newly-opened distribution center marks the third major East Coast site in Snow Joe’s footprint, which includes a 144,875 square foot facility in Salisbury, NC, a 271,000 square foot distribution center in Mahwah, NJ, a 575,918 square foot distribution center in Lacey, WA and a 535,000 square foot distribution site in Houston, TX.
