Biden returns to D.C. area after weekend that included UD speech and meeting with families who lost loved ones in Texas school shooting

President Joe Biden and first Lady Jill will leave New Castle Airport on Monday morning to participate in the Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in northern Virginia

On Sunday, The Bidens flew from New Castle to San Antonio and traveled to Uvalde a city of about 15,000. They attended mass and met with families of those who lost loved ones in a mass shooting at a school that claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers.

The First Couple returned to Delaware late Sunday night.

Two weeks ago, the Bidens flew to Buffalo, NY, after a lone-gunman, with white supremacist leanings killed and wounded customers at supermarket in a predominately Black neighborhood in the New York city.

The President flew to Delaware on Friday afternoon for a Memorial Day weekend visit that included an address to graduates of the University of Delaware on Saturday morning. On Friday, he gave an address to graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.

Flight restrictions will remain in effect in areas around the airport and the Biden home near Greenville into Monday.
