Development Finance panel to consider 2 grant requests

The Delaware Council on Development Finance has a short agenda for its meeting on Feb. 28 at 9 a.m.

The meeting will be held virtually and in person at the Buena Vista Conference Center off DuPont Highway south of New Castle. The council recommends grants for businesses and organizations.

Items on the agenda:

  • n advance of the hearing, additional information concerning the matters and applications to be considered at the hearing may be obtained from, and written comments may be submitted to, the Council in care of the Authority, Attn: Jordan Schulties, Division Director, Division of Small Business, at business@delaware.gov.

Applicants

  • Ballydel Technologies Inc. is requesting $50,000 from the Delaware Strategic Fund Delaware Technical Innovation Program for a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant. The business is located in Wilmington and provides material and technology solutions for space exploration, defense, energy, public health, and other areas.
  • LaMotte Chemical Products Co. is requesting a Delaware Strategic Fund grant in the amount of $1,248,740 to expand operations in Wilmington.
  • Also on the agenda is a presentation regarding an update on the Small Business Financial Development Fund.

The council, made up of public and private sector representatives, may go into closed session to consider legal strategies or collections matters.
