Covid-19 update: No new deaths as hospitalizations rise above 400

In its daily summary, the Delaware Division of Public Health reported no new deaths as hospitalizations rose above 400 and new cases plummeted.

  • Covid-related deaths,2,531.
  • 489 new positive cases, bringing the overall total to 248,111. Cases have been declining, although figures in the coming days may be influenced by test centers shutting down due to weather.
  • 18.3% of total tests were positive in the seven-day rolling average, down 1.2% from the previous day
  • 411 current hospitalizations, up 17 from the previous day, but well below the 700 reported earlier in January.
  • 45 individuals in critical condition
  • 9 new hospital admissions, up 2 from the previous day.
  • 6,694 tests performed daily in the 7-day average, down 431 from the previous day.
  • 644,643 people fully vaccinated (CDC)
  • 1,680,716* total vaccine doses. (CDC).
