Citizens for a Pro-Business Delaware celebrated what they described as a  major victory when  Chancery Court struck down a motion from former court-appointed Custodian Robert Pincus and his attorney, Skadden Arps’ Jennifer Voss to hold the company in contempt.

Citizens for a Pro-Business Delaware Campaign Manager Chris Coffey released the following:

“This is a significant victory for TransPerfect, but more importantly it is a victory for so many who have been wronged by a system that lets elite law use insider relationships for their own gain. This decision affirms that at some point the court-sanctioned pillaging of TransPerfect must come to an end, along with the excessive litigiousness of Pincus and Voss.

TransPerfect and Citizens for a Pro-Business Delaware and mainly  TransPerfect employee group,  have been battling corporate law giant  Skadden and Pincus over fees charged for the sale of the company.

Citizens have also spent hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in ads attacking  Chancery Court, Delaware’s governor, and the Delaware court system in general.

TransPerfect, which has no physical presence in Delaware,  has waged its legal battles in Delaware, New York, and Nevada while earlier moving its incorporation to the Silver State.

Chancery Court typically stays away from contempt and other sanctions in rulings on corporate matters that on occasion draw fiery responses from both sides.
