Club Phred will perform with Felix Cavaliere and the horn section from “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Friday, October 29 at 8 p.m., in The Baby Grand, in the Edith & Alexander Giacco Building at 818 Market Street, Wilmington.
Reserved seating is $50 and all proceeds will go to the 501(c)3 nonprofit Stop Soldier Suicide.
“With the sudden exit from Afghanistan, there are more expectations of soldier suicide than ever before,” Brian DiSabatino, representative of 22 in 22/Stop Soldier Suicide, said. “Since the exit from Kabul, Stop Soldier Suicide has seen its weekend call rate increase over 100%. We must act now to get our Veterans the help they so desperately need.”
Cavaliere’s 50-year career includes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, Grammy Hall of Fame and Musicians Hall of Fame. Early in 1965, Cavaliere formed the ‘Young Rascals’ with Dino Danelli, Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish. Signed to Atlantic Records, and now called The Rascals, the mega hit “Good Lovin’” struck No. 1 in February 1966. They followed suit with hits like “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “Groovin’”(No. 1 in 1967), “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Girl Like You,” “A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Got to Be Free” (No. 1 in 1968).
Club Phred is a member of The Delaware Rock and Roll Society. The seven piece band helping to raise in excess of $5 million for 47 charities since 2004.
The Baby Grand requires proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event for entry into its theater. Patrons, volunteers and staff are required to wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status, unless they are actively eating or drinking. Donations are also accepted.
