Heat index values of 100 to 110 degrees are expected during the afternoon with little relief at night. Thursday is still expected to be the most oppressive day. Temperatures will be in the mid-90s.Chances of rain are relatively low through Thursday .
The usual precautions apply, including wearing light clothing, taking frequent breaks, drinking a lot of water and ensuring pets are cared for.
Checking in on friends and families, especially those without air-conditioning, is recommended.
