Daily cases of Covid 19 pass 350 mark

The Delaware Division of Public Health reported more than 350 daily cases of Covid-19 as of Friday night. 
 
Hospitalizations are on the upswing. According to the weekly report from the Delaware Division of Public Health, 117 individuals are  hospitalized due to Covid-19 complications. an increase of 40 from last week. Sixteen  of the hospitalized persons are critically ill, an increase of five from the previous day. 
 
 The percentage of adults in Delaware with at least one dose of vaccine hit 74% on Friday, based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The national average is around 70%
 
The other numbers:
 
  • 354 new positive cases, bringing the overall total to 114,187
  • One New death, a Kent County resident in their 70s who had underlying health conditions. The individual’s vaccination status wasn’t immediately available.
  • 6.1% of total tests were positive in the sevn-day rolling average, down one-tenth of a percent from the previous day. The positive test rate had been as low as 1%.
  • 16 individuals in critical condition. Hospitalizations rose as high as 474 last winter and below 20 earlier in the summer.
  • 16 new hospital admissions, unchanged from the previous day.
  • 478,681 Delawareans fully vaccinated (Friday’s updated number is delayed).
  • 1,080,285 total vaccine doses administered (Friday’s updated number is delayed).
