Two new deaths were reported in a report from the Delaware Division of Public Health.

The most recent deaths were from New Castle County – one in their 50s and the other in their 70s. The deaths increased Delaware’s total number of Covid-related deaths to 1,494.

The other numbers:
• 193 new positive cases, bringing the overall total to 89,680. The cumulative number of cases increased significantly due to a delay in reporting by a testing provider caused by a technical issue experienced by the provider. Positive cases had been as high as 1,000 during a winter surge of the virus.
• 15.7 percent of people who tested positive in the seven-day rolling average (down 1.4 percentage points from the previous day) and 3.9 percent of total tests positive in the seven-day rolling average (down two-tenths of a percent from the previous day).
• 90 current hospitalizations (down five from the previous day). This number included 22 individuals in critical condition. The number of hospitalizations had been approaching 500 earlier in the winter.
• 23 new hospital admissions, up to six from the previous day).
• 294,894 total vaccine doses administered (up 7,961 from the previous day).
