Wohlsen Construction is the construction manager for the new Southern Library in Middletown.
Ground was recently broken for the new 28,000-square-foot library.
With room for future expansion, the design elements include community rooms, book storage, public gardens, marker space, gallery space, kids’ exploration space, study rooms, a media room, and offices.
The location of the project was selected to have ease of accessibility and proximity to residential areas, schools, and recreational areas in the fast-growing area, Wohlsen release stated.
Wohlsen, founded in 1890, provides construction management, general contracting, and design/build services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions.
The merit shop company provides construction services in the senior living, education, healthcare, and commercial markets. It has offices in Wilmington; Berwyn, Lancaster, and Harrisburg, PA; Parsippany, NJ; Hamden, CT; Baltimore, MD; and Vienna, VA.
