The Dogfish Inn, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s canal-side hotel in Lewes rolled out the Off-Centered Gear Shed and Outdoor Activity Package.

“Whether it’s biking, hiking, or stand-up paddleboarding, I spend time every day soaking in the splendor just beyond the doors of my home in Lewes,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head brewery co-founder.  “With our new Outdoor Activity Package and Off-Centered Gear Shed you have that same opportunity; a chance to fully experience coastal Delaware’s goodness in true Dogfish Head fashion. All you have to do is book a room and show up – we’ll take care of the rest.”

Calagione is an outdoors enthusiast who has promoted Dogfish Head, now owned by Boston Beer, through bicycling, canoeing, and other activities.

The inn’s collection of gear includes beach chairs, beach cruiser bicycles, and helmets, running headlamps and reflective vests, hammocks and sand-free beach blankets, muscle recovery and stretching tools,  binoculars, hiking poles, disc golf sets,  cornhole bags and boards,  tote bags and blankets.

To complement the gear shed, the Dogfish Inn created an Inn-Room Resource Guide with information to help guests plan their outdoor excursions that can range from birdwatching to running, hiking, and biking.

The Inn in Lewes also offers and activity package at extra cost that includes Dogfish Head swag.

The package is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts and many newcomers who are more comfortable with outdoor activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Other former drawing cards for the inn,  brewery tours, tastings, and dining at its two Rehoboth Beach restaurants are not yet available to visitors. The restrictions came about after  Sussex saw an uptick in Covid-19  cases.

No recent outbreaks have been reported, since a surge in cases was reported in the hospitality community earlier in the spring and summer after senior week.

Bar seating was banned in beach zip codes up until Labor Day weekend.
