The U.S.  Department of Justice has reported postings or flyers on the internet regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the use of face masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of which include the Department of Justice’s seal.

The cards have been presented at businesses in  Delaware and other states. Mentioned is an entity known as the Freedom to Breathe Agency.

The Justice Department stated that the  postings were not issued by the department and are not endorsed by the department.

The department urges the public not to rely on the information contained in these postings and to visit ADA.gov for ADA information issued by the Department.

Some people should not wear face masks for reasons that can include breathing or anxiety disorders.

However, medical professionals say these individuals should look at options such as deliveries rather than run the risk of catching the virus in places where facemasks are required.

Delaware requires the use of facemasks in indoor public spaces and crowded areas such as boardwalks.
