Capano Management reported that 50 people were displaced by a fire at the Village of Barrett’s Run apartments in the Bear-Christiana area off Walther Road.
The company based near Wilmington said that displaced individuals and families were provided overnight lodging, with vendors and The Delaware Apartment Association providing meals for staff and residents.
No damage report on the fire has been issued by the state Fire Marshal’s office.
The Christiana Fire Company reported in a social media post that the fire grew in size due in part to the wind and led to three alarms that brought fire companies from around the area.
One firefighter from Christiana Fire Company suffered burns and was treated and released.
