DelDOT names new planning chief

Secretary of Transportation Jennifer Cohan announced Marc Coté has been selected as the new Director of Planning for the Department.

During his 30-year career with the Department, he has worked in road design and served as a project manager in the Corridor Management, Quality Management, and Project Management in the Division of Transportation Solutions. In 2005, Coté moved to the Division of Planning to become the Subdivision Engineer and in 2012 the assistant director of planning for Development Coordination.

Coté graduated from Lehigh University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He has been a Professional Engineer for 26 years and is also a Certified Planner (AICP).

Swain

Division of Small Business as Regional Business Manager for Sussex County

Sussex County native Lauren Swain  joined the Delaware  Division of Small Business as Regional Business Manager for Sussex County in early February.

She comes to the Division of Small Business after working in the Delaware General Assembly as a legislative assistant for Sen. Colin Bonini and Sen. Dave Wilson.

Swain also previously worked at Bayhealth in Dover and holds a bachelor’s degree from Wilmington University.

  • Ann Camper, NCIDQ, was recently promoted to Senior Associate.

  • Jonathan Richard, P.Ea civil engineer with Becker Morgan Group, was promoted to Associate. Becker Morgan has offices in Delaware, Maryland, and North Carolina.

Summit Aviation names sales director

Summit Aviation,  Middletown, announced that it has hired John Gonsalves as its Director of Sales and Marketing. 

His responsibilities will include developing new business relationships, strengthening existing relationships and overseeing the growth of the company’s fixed-wing, rotor-wing and government/military services for the company’s Delaware location. 

Gonsalves  has served the last 28 years in various sales positions within Bombardier Aerospace. He most recently served as Bombardier’s Director of Aircraft Sales for Government Programs covering the United States, Mexico and Central and South Americas.

Housing Alliance names  Stucker as executive director

The Board of Directors of Housing Alliance Delaware announced that Rachel Stucker will be joining as Executive Director. Stucker has worked for the past 10 years in non-profit management, homeless services and housing policy.

Stucker has experience in direct client services, non-profit administration, working with the Continuum of Care program, and providing leadership and technical assistance in the areas of policy implementation, community building, supportive housing, evidence-based practices, and promoting innovation strategies for advancing housing opportunities and ending homelessness. 

She previously served as Associate Director of homeless services with Meeting Ground Inc., Interim Executive Director of the Homeless Planning Council of Delaware, and Associate Director of Housing Alliance Delaware. She also worked as a consultant providing technical assistance in the areas of grant writing, supportive housing, and health sector/housing partnerships.

Rachel holds an M.A. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware, where she focused her studies on housing policy as a recipient of the Marvin S. Gilman National Housing Endowment Scholarship.

Booker

The University of Delaware names student financial services director

Mary Booker, previously assistant vice provost for student financial services at the University of San Francisco, has been named executive director of student financial services at the University of Delaware.

A first-generation college graduate and a U.S. Army veteran, Booker has experience in the field of higher education financial aid.

Earlier, Booker was director of financial aid at Gustavus Adolphus College and Pomona College. Previously, she served as the associate director of financial aid at both Dartmouth and Oberlin colleges.
