UD grad JPMorgan Chase’s new chief marketing officer

Gillin

JPMorgan Chase & Co. announced Leslie Gillin as its Chief Marketing Officer, with responsibility for the Chase, J.P. Morgan and corporate brands.

Gillin, who has a bachelors degree from the University of Delaware,  joined Chase three years ago after serving more than 25 years in marketing, product and business development roles at Citi, Bank of America and MBNA, including assignments in Canada and the U.K. Before joining Chase, she was the Chief Marketing Officer of Citi’s Global Consumer Bank, accountable for driving business growth across 18 countries.

Gillin succeeds Kristin Lemkau, who was named CEO of the firm’s U.S. Wealth Management last month.

Day

Delaware Dept. of Technology  names partner services chief

The Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI) announced that Justin Day has been promoted to serve as Chief of Partner Services. In his new role, he will lead the new Office of Partner Services — which will be comprised of Partner Engagement, End-User Services, and Statewide IT Support Center teams. As part of DTI’s ongoing transformative digital government approach, he will work to better align partner roles and IT solutions with business strategy, enhance support options, and implement a new enterprise managed & brokered service offering to maximize value for all stakeholders. Justin will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance customer experience and service delivery across Executive agencies and the Legislative branch.

Day is an alumnus of Wilmington University, Leadership Delaware Fellow, and holds multiple professional accreditations including ITIL Foundations, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network +. He currently serves as Executive Vice President of Delaware Valley 7×24 Exchange and regularly speaks with national audiences on the topics of data center infrastructure, operational excellence, & edge-computing.

ServiceSource names regional director.

ServiceSource announced that Cindy Sterling has been named Regional Executive Director for the Delaware Regional Office effective January 27.

Sterling has been with ServiceSource since 1999, most recently as the Director of Employment Services. During her tenure at ServiceSource, she has developed and implemented several new programs and services to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities. The Dover Senior Center, The FrameWorks for Success School to Work Transition Program, The Riverfront Community Program, Employment Solutions for People with Autism Program, and FinanceAbility are just a few examples.

Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association names executive director

Polk

The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association  Board of the Directors and Secretary of Education Susan Bunting announced that Donna Polk has been selected as DIAA’s new executive director. Polk becomes the 9th executive director since the organization’s inception in 1945. She will be the organization’s first female director and first African American director.

Polk earned a Bachelor of Science degree in counseling psychology from Columbia Union College and a Master of Arts degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.

Middleton

UD names registrar

Amanda Steele-Middleton, previously registrar at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, has been named the University of Delaware’s new registrar. She succeeds Jeff Palmer, who is retiring after a 42-year career at UD that began when he was an undergraduate student assistant in the Registrar’s Office.

Steele-Middleton earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and a master of business administration degree, both from Wright State University.

Former president Mishoe returns to  DSU board

After a two-year tenure as the President of Delaware State University, Dr. Wilma Mishoe has returned to her service as a member of the institution’s Board of Trustees.

In June 2018, the Board named Mishoe as the Permanent President of the University, making her the first woman in the institution’s history to serve in that top leadership position. In another historic first at the University, she was also the first offspring of a president to serve in that same capacity (her father Dr. Luna I. Mishoe was the president of then-Delaware State College from 1960-1987).

Mishoe retired as the University President at the end of 2019.

Middlebrooks

Belfint, Lyons & Shuman announces promotions

Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. (BLS), a certified public accounting and consulting firm with offices in Delaware and Pennsylvania, announced the following individuals for their leadership promotions.

Valerie C. Middlebrooks, CPA was elected as Shareholder with the firm and as a Director in the Tax & Small Business Department.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants (DSCPA) and volunteers with the Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation and the Delaware Center for Justice. Middlebrooks received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin.

Ciminera

 Christopher J. Ciminera, CPA, QKA  was promoted to Principal in the firm’s Accounting & Auditing Department. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants (DSCPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), ASPPA Benefits Council of Greater Philadelphia, Toastmasters International, and the Surfrider Foundation. Ciminera received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from West Chester University.

Patterson

Jonathan A. Patterson, CPA, CVA was promoted to Principal in the firm’s Tax & Small Business Department. Patterson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants (DSCPA), and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Jon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware.

Antonik

Delaware Farm Bureau names PR coordinator

A new public relations coordinator has been chosen to serve the Delaware Farm Bureau following the retirement of Carol Kinsley, according to Executive Director Joseph Poppiti. Jennifer Antonik is taking over the reins as the public relations coordinator for the statewide non-profit organization and editor of its newspaper, Delaware Farm Bureau News.

Antonik has an associate degree in communications technology from Delaware Technical Community College, or DTCC, and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in communications, with a concentration in integrated marketing, from Wilmington University.
