State Police investigating reports of undelivered goods from now-closed Sussex appliance store

The Delaware State Police Financial Crimes Unit is investigating an appliance business that did not make good on sales.

The investigation dates back to early February when troopers were made aware of a customer purchasing appliances from Coastal Maytag at 30459 Cedar Neck Road and the items were never delivered.

Further investigation revealed that numerous customers have purchased appliances in which they either have paid in full or in part and have not received the merchandise or any type of refund. To date, a total of approximately 30 fraudulent complaints have been filed with the Delaware State Police regarding the business. 

Coastal Maytag remains closed at this time.  The case continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 4, Financial Crimes Unit. 

No charges have been filed. Detectives will be working in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office.
