It’s Friday,

The Biden watch is on.

The press corps kept a close eye on a recent appearance at the University of Delaware for any hint that the former vice president was closer to making a run. Biden confirmed that he is nearing a decision.

Primary opponents would not be afraid to make at least a passing reference to Biden’s age and President Trump is not known for taking the high road.

The president reportedly called his advisors together to ask whether he should be worried about a Biden candidacy.

Biden is known for his gaffes and straying from political correctness. That includes bragging  that he would have turned up Trump in a  high school brawl.

But  Trump’s take no prisoners style might give him more room for an awkward remark or two. He might also benefit from the desire of Democrats for a candidate who would appeal to voters in  “rust belt” states like Ohio and Michigan.

Should Biden take the plunge, Delaware would  emerge as a political  hotspot

CBS reported Philadelphia and northern Delaware have emerged as the top candidates for Biden’s campaign headquarters.

Even if Philly wins out (Pennsylvania is a key to a  victory over Trump) the spotlight would still shine brightly on Delaware and Biden’s comings and goings.

In addition to a home near Greenville, the longtime U.S. Senator from the First State also has a new place in Rehoboth Beach.

Even some of Biden’s longtime detractors in Delaware would welcome his candidacy, given the positive impact his decision to run would have on the state.

For now, we can only wait.
