The Newark Morning Rotary Club teamed with the Courtyard by Marriott Newark at the University of Delaware to welcome and host the 2018 Mandela Fellows guests.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and embodies the United States’ commitment to invest in the future of Africa, a release stated.
Through the initiative, young African leaders gain the skills and connections they need to accelerate their own career trajectories and contribute more robustly to strengthening democratic institutions, spurring economic growth, and enhancing peace and security in Africa.
The dinner event was arranged by University of Delaware (UD) Civic Leadership Institute, with UD Hospitality Business Management students, Mokino Liu and Tenghui Huang, working with hotel staff to plan and execute the event.
