Bellefonte man arrested in connection with business burglaries

Delaware State Police arrested a Bellefonte man for his involvement in a string of business burglaries that occurred over a four-month period.

Troop 2 detectives have arrested William R. Marsh III, 42, of Wilmington, and charged him with 18 felonies and 11 misdemeanors, in connection with burglaries at businesses in Newark, Bear, New Castle, and Hockessin, that occurred between December 3, 2017 and March 25, 2018.

Through investigative measures and leads, detectives were able to develop Marsh as a suspect in the burglaries, and on   April 16  executed a search warrant at his residence, in the 5000 block of Le Parc Drive.

Marsh was found in the residence and taken into custody without incident. A  later search of the residence produced additional evidence, troopers reported.

The five burglaries and one attempted burglary were as follows:

  • Tender Bones Rib Shack – 2504 Red Lion Rd., Bear (December 3, 2017)
  • Casablanca Restaurant – 4010 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle (January 13, 2108)
  • Phoenix City Restaurant – 2713 Pulaski Hwy., Newark (February 1, 2018)
  • Great Clips 6292 Limestone Rd., Hockessin (February 10, 2018)
  • Natural Nail Salon 6284 Limestone Rd., Hockessin – attempt  (February 10, 2018)
  • Dunkin Donuts 1200 Pulaski Hwy., Bear (March 25, 2018)

Marsh was taken to Delaware State Police Troop 2 where he was arrested and formally charged with five  counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, 1 count of Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, 5 counts of Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 , 5 counts of Theft Under $1000 , 4 counts of Possession of Burglar Tools, 3 counts of Conspiracy 2nd Degree, 3 counts of Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited and 1 count of Possession of Marijuana.

Marsh was arraigned and taken to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $67,100 secured bail.
