Email virus reportedly shows up at nonprofits

The Delaware Association for  Non Profit Advancement (DANA) is reporting a virus that attempts to hack Emails.

According to an alert, Several non-profit agency emails (including some DANA staff) have experienced email compromises that are sent out to all contacts.

The Email subject reads: Subject: RE: Action Required: Completed: *[name of sender]Foundation(R)# and includes a Dropbox link.

The alert states that the Email should not be opened.

For those who do,  corrective measures include resetting Email passwords, having an  IT person check your incoming mail rules for possible redirections, update antivirus software, and scan systems.

DANA has not heard of another impact  to computer systems.
