Long-running speculation on a bowling, game and entertainment center at the Christiana Fashion Center appeared to be answered on Monday with news that Main Event will open a location in the lifestyle center.
A representative of the company confirmed that the location was in the works. Work is also under way on a large building at the center adjacent to Christiana Mall.
Main Event operates a chain of 37 centers in the United States. It is part of an Australian company that operates entertainment centers and amusement parks.
Main Events feature bowling, laser tag, restaurants and bar facilities.
A bowling and entertainment center had long been rumored for the Fashion Center, with names like Jillian’s and Dave and Busters mentioned over the years. Some Jillian’s locations were acquired by Dave and Buster’s
A theater was also slated for the Fashion Center. However, Cinemark opted to open a theater on a mall tract controlled by General Growth Properties.
Allied Retail Properties is the owner and developer of the center that has attracted national stores like Nordstrom, Saks Off 5th, Best Buy and outdoor retailer REI.
