In marking World Water Month, Speakman announced  partnerships with local nonprofits to conserve and improve water quality in Delaware.  Speakman is based in New Castle.

This past year Speakman met its pledge of helping America save one billion gallons of water by encouraging consumers to change the way they shower. In addition to designing a range of shower heads that use 20-40 percent less water, the company’s philanthropic efforts send a steady flow of financial and volunteer support to water conservation causes.

This year, Speakman is expanding its conservation commitment by supporting three local organizations and events. First is the Delaware Nature Society where Speakman has signed on to join the Clean Water Alliance and will support the Clean Water Campaign which strives to improve the water quality of local waterways through advocacy, conservation, and education.

Secondly, Speakman signed on for the second year as Lead Sponsor of the 2017 Dogfish Dash, road race scheduled for September 24, 2017, in Milton, DE.

The popular race once again benefits the Delaware Chapter of The Nature Conservancy to aid its efforts of improving the overall health and water quality of Delaware rivers and priority watersheds.

Finally, this summer,  Speakman will provide water-efficient shower heads for the 70,000 expected attendees of the annual Firefly music festival from June 15-18 in Dover.

A total of 425 shower facilities will be on-site providing concertgoers with showers that use less water without sacrificing performance.

“Speakman’s commitment to water conservation will always be a significant part of who we are as a company,” said CEO Bob Knoll. “We started this company in Delaware close to 150 years ago, and feel it’s imperative that we continue to do our part to address water conservation, and to partner with organizations that will help improve the lives of Delawareans.”
