Wilmington, American Water offer water, sewer line protection program

Wilmington sealAmerican Water Resources and the City of Wilmington  launched an official partnership to offer Service Line Protection Programs to Wilmington homeowners.

As the exclusive provider of Service Line Protection Programs for the City of Wilmington, American Water Resources aims to educate homeowners on their responsibilities regarding water and sewer lines, while offering  protection for homeowners against potentially expensive repairs, a release stated.

The Service Line Protection Programs being offered include:

  • Water Line Protection Program
  • Sewer Line Protection Program

These programs provide customers a way to pay for repairs to water and sewer service lines not typically covered under homeowners’ insurance or standard home warranties.

“We are excited to partner with American Water Resources to provide our customers an affordable and easy way to protect themselves from unexpected service line repairs,” said Mayor Dennis P. Williams, Mayor of the City of Wilmington. “Through this program, eligible Wilmington homeowners will now have access to American Water Resources’ protection programs, which can help provide peace of mind if a service line problem occurs.”

Degillio, president of American Water Enterprises. “Through our protection programs, homeowners now have the ability to help safeguard themselves from the financial demands and stress that occur when they experience a water or sewer line problem. Replacing these lines can cost thousands of dollars. American Water Resources provides a convenient and reliable solution.”

American Water Resources manages the Service Line Protection Programs  and will establish  a local contractor network while managing all claims. Program participants will receive 24-hour support via a toll-free hotline and a one-year warranty on all covered repairs with no forms to submit and no deductibles.

Details about these programs and how to enroll will be arriving in the mail for eligible homeowners at the end of the month.

American Water Resources offers Service Line Protection Programs to homeowners in 43 states and Washington, D.C., and currently services more than 1.6 million contracts.
