Next week, the Technology Forum of Delaware and Open Data Delaware will help launch the State of Delaware’s new Open Data Portal.
The new initiative will feature up to 30 data sets and has the potential to make Delaware a more livable place, a release state.
Tech forum will announce the new platform with Governor Markell, the Secretary of State’s Office, and leaders from the departments and agencies providing new data.
The event will feature a panel discussion and demos of the Open Data Portal. Come learn about the data sets including health, state spending, transportation, environmental, and other areas.
The following experts will discuss the portal:
- James Collins, CIO, State of Delaware (invited)
- John Emerick, Trellist
- David Ginzburg, Zip Code Wilmington
- Kjell Hegstad, Digital Vikings
- Ewan Simpson, Socrata
Established by Markell’s signing of Executive Order 57, the Delaware Open Data Portal will give constituents a central place for finding data sets from state agencies.
The event is slated from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1313 Innovation, 1313 N. Market St.
The cost is $25 for members and non-members. There is no charge for the press conference.
