Shinn Paint Co. sold to New Jersey retailer

Screen Shot 2016-08-09 at 8.33.56 PMNew Jersey chain,  Ricciardi Brothers,  has purchased a long time Delaware paint retailer B. Frank Shinn Paint Co.

Ricciardi, while not mentioning the purchase on its website,  announced it has new locations in Newark, Kennett Square, north Wilmington and Kennett Square, PA. that were formerly Shinn stores. The Shinn website has been shut down.

Ricchiardi has nearly 40 locations, primarily in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

In 2014, Shin closed a location in Salisbury MD. Shincompany had been in operation for more than a century.

Both Shinn and Ricchiardi are dealers for the Benjamin Moore paint line.

Paint retailers have faced stiff competition from big box stores that have targeted commercial customers.  Paint giants, like Sherwin Williams,  have also opened stores on under their brand.
