Jadali named trauma medical director at St. Francis Healthcare

Jadali-MehdiSaint Francis Healthcare has appointed Seyedmehdi Jadali, M.D., FACS, Trauma Medical Director.

Dr. Jadali will lead the trauma program at Saint Francis, which is currently a Participating Trauma System Hospital seeking a Level 3 Trauma Center designation from the state in the upcoming year.

Delaware has one Level 1 Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital with Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children listed as Level One for children. Other hospitals around the state have the Level 3 designation.

As of 2013, Wilmington Hosptial and Christiana Hospital are listed as participating hospitals that offer care, but do not have the Level 3 designation.

“Our trauma program is a collaborative effort that includes Dr. Jadali, our expanded board-certified trauma surgical staff and our emergency department physicians,” said Brian Dietz,   CEO of Saint Francis Healthcare. “Our highly educated and trained staff members continue to uphold the hospital’s commitment to providing fast access to advanced trauma care to the greater Wilmington community.”

Jadali, board certified by the American Board of Surgery, is a member of the Surgical Associates of New Castle. He has held various medical roles throughout his 25 years of practice after graduating from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1991. Jadali recently served as the Director of Newark Urgent Care in Newark,  and Associate Program Director for the Department of Surgery Residency Program at Christiana Care Health System.

Jadali has published several medical articles in different facets of general surgery and trauma. His works are published in the Delaware Medical Journal and Nabz Journal. Jadali is a Fellow of American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, Association for Surgical Education, Association of Program Directors in Surgery and Medical Society of Delaware.
