Home sales rose in Kent and New Castle counties in February, the TREND multiple listing service reported.
Home sales totaled 411 in New Castle County, compared to 340 during the same month a year ago. Kent County home sales were up slightly from 103 in February 2015 to 112 during the past month.
The median sales price in New Castle County for February was essentially unchanged at $203.750. The median sales price in Kent County was $185,000, unchanged from a year ago.
The number of days homes were on the market dropped in New Castle County about 10 days from a year ago to 53 days in February of this year. The opposite was true in Kent County, which saw the average number of days homes were on the market increase from 51 in February 2015 to 67 during the same month in 2016.
Home sales figures for Sussex County were not immediately available. The state’s southernmost county has its own multiple listing system. The TREND network includes the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
National home sales figures are expected to be released next week.
