Saluting savers and encouraging entrepreneurs was top of mind recently, as Delaware recognized both First State Saves Week and National Entrepreneurship Week last month.
To honor the occasion, the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute (DFLI) focused on building assets, hosting a free Super Savers event at the Goodwill Center. Guest instructors Lisa Spellman, a mortgage foreclosure outreach coordinator with the Department of Justice and Curtis May, a financial adviser, offered tips and resources to better understanding credit, reducing debt and managing finances.
And, to give those looking to start a business a place to start, DFLI presented two “Out of the Box” Entrepreneurship Panels, featuring local business owners and entrepreneurship experts, including:

Attendee Nichole Naprstek, an aspiring entrepreneur, said, “I enjoyed every panelist, and everything was useful, be it an anecdote or nugget of truth!”
