Randy L. Stone has been named as president of the DuPont  Performance Materials business   succeeding Patrick E. Lindner, who will move over to W.L. Gore and Associates, Newark.

Stone joined DuPont in 2007 and has served in progressive leadership roles for the DuPont Dow Elastomers joint venture and DuPont Performance Elastomers business, the latter while located in Shanghai, China.  Stone also served as the director of investor relations and most recently in DuPont Performance Materials as global business director – High-Performance Solutions.

Gore spokeswoman Amy Calhoun confirmed that Lindner will join the company as an associate within the enterprise. Gore does not use job titles other than CEO.

Privately held Gore is facing some of the pressures that have been facing DuPont. The company confirmed to BBC last year that it has been undergoing a global review that included staffing at a plant in the United Kingdom.

DuPont is slated to merge with Dow later this year. The combined company would then be split off into three publicly traded corporations. The companies would include agriculture, material science and specialty products businesses.

The agriculture and specialty products businesses would operate small headquarters operations in Delaware, with the remaining business to be based in Michigan, home of Dow’s headquarters.
