Last week, New Castle County Police responded to the Walgreens located at the Brookside Shopping Center after a man  attempted to purchase cigarettes from an employee using a fraudulent $100 bill.

Officers said the  employee immediately noticed the fake money and refused to allow the man to make a purchase.  He then informed the man the money was a fake and the suspect left the store on foot in an unknown direction.

The man was described as an African-American male, approximately 20-25 years of age, with a beard.  He was wearing a peach/pink colored hat and a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call NCCPD by dialing (302) 573-2800
