Last week, New Castle County Police responded to the Walgreens located at the Brookside Shopping Center after a man attempted to purchase cigarettes from an employee using a fraudulent $100 bill.
Officers said the employee immediately noticed the fake money and refused to allow the man to make a purchase. He then informed the man the money was a fake and the suspect left the store on foot in an unknown direction.
The man was described as an African-American male, approximately 20-25 years of age, with a beard. He was wearing a peach/pink colored hat and a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
