David Sawyer HeadshotBMO Financial Group announced the appointment of David Sawyer as President, BMO Delaware Trust Company, a part of BMO Financial Group.

As president,  Sawyer will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to developing and executing strategies to grow BMO’s trust business in Delaware. He will report to Debbie Korompilas, National Head of Trust and Estate Services, BMO Private Bank.

“David is a proven leader with in-depth knowledge of fiduciary and wealth planning services, as well as many years of experience serving ultra-affluent families,” said   Korompilas. “I’m happy to welcome him to his new position within BMO and am confident that, with his expertise and commitment to providing an outstanding client experience, he will play an important role in BMO Delaware Trust Company’s ongoing growth and success.”

“As the wealth planning landscape continues to change dramatically, the planning options offered by fiduciary platforms like BMO Delaware Trust Company are becoming increasingly important,” said Mr. Sawyer. “An estate plan is no longer a static structure, but something that should evolve and respond as issues develop. A fiduciary platform based on the Delaware statutory scheme provides that needed flexibility.”

Prior to this role, Sawyer was a Managing Director with CTC | myCFO, a part of BMO Financial Group, which serves the needs of ultra-high net worth private wealth clients. He has been a member of the Illinois wealth planning community for the past 17 years, beginning his career as a practicing attorney in estate planning with the law firm Sachnoff and Weaver Ltd. (now Reed Smith LLP).
