Talks between DuPont Syngenta reported.

FarmThe Wall Street Journal and Marketwatch are reporting DuPont is in talks regarding a combination of its agriculture business with Syngenta.

It was also reported that DuPont was also talking to Dow Chemical, which is reportedly looking to spin off its agricultural operations.

The website and newspaper that are part of the News Co./Fox empire, reported talks are in their early stages and could fall apart.

Swiss-based Syngenta has been in play since merger  talks fell ended with DuPont rival Monsanto.

New DuPont CEO Edward Breen reported in an earnings call last week that he was in contact with companies looking at options for their agricultural operations.

All companies are struggling with sluggish markets, with the once fast-growing market in Brazil in a serious slump.

DuPont reported lower earnings in the third quarter, due to problmes in the ag sector.
