Five hundred people were on hand to mark the 50th Anniversary of Mitchell Associates at an event Tuesday night at the Delaware Children’s Museum on the Wilmington Riverfront.
The interior architecture, design and signage firm was founded a half century ago in Hockessin.
Mitchell was a pioneer on the Wilmington Riverfront, with the renovation of a building that remains its current home. The company remained virtually alone in the area for decades before development moved into high gear.
Michael Purzycki, executive director of the Riverfront Corporation noted that since Mitchell’s move to the area, $1 billion in development has taken place on the riverfront.
Louis Rosenberg, a co-founder of Mitchell serves as president of the firm.
