DogfishThe Dogfish Inn is up and running with a healthy dose of publicity that the company always manages to attract.

The extensively renovated inn overlooks Lewes Harbor. The inn is in a location between the Dogfish Head brewpub and distillery in Rehoboth Beach and the large brewery in Milton.

Decor reflects a 1950s and ’60s look from the glory days of beachfront inns that are being increasingly replaced by franchised hotels and motels.

Rooms will not have ’60s prices, running from the mid-$200s on weekdays and high-$200s on weekends. The suite, dubbed Sweet!, will be in the high-$400s on weekdays and the high-$500s on weekends, the company reported. There’s a two-night minimum on Fridays and Saturdays.

Ties with what may be one of the state’s best known brands and an increasingly year-around economy in coastal Delaware may help insulate the inn from the ups and downs of occupancy rates.

Designed by Studio Tack in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Dogfish Head, it features 16 rooms filled with beer-centric amenities and design elements

The inn reflects the off-centered theme of the brewery that has branched off into areas such as sausages and music. Along the way, the brewery has been able to maintain premium prices for its brews while ramping up production.

Dogfish  completed an expansion at the Milton brewery that allowed an expansion of its distribution area to a few states that had been dropped a few years back.

Each room includes a wool Dogfish blanket created in collaboration with Pennsylvania  apparel maker Woolrich. Guests will also find a Tivoli radio and screen prints of beer labels from Dogfish Head’s music collaborations.

Local artist Steve Rogers h painted the historic Lightship Overfalls in each room. A National Historic Landmark and one of only 17 lightships remaining, the Lightship Overfalls is docked a few hundred feet away.

Each room is equipped with a mini-fridge stocked with locally made snacks, with  barware for beer guests bring back from the Dogfish brewery and brewpub.

Retro American-made beach chairs and Apolis tote bags are ready for trips to the local beaches. The cottage features a library curated by the City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco. Dogfish has put together a treasure map highlighting local landmarks and attractions.
