Redner’s Warehouse  Markets is preparing  to open a store in Georgetown.

The company invited the community to get a first glimpse of their new store during an open house held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.

Redner’s store Director  Huber, along with corporate staff and directors will welcome the community to its new grocery store.

Wednesday, June 18 will feature a brief, closed ribbon cutting ceremony with company and local officials prior to officially opening for business at 8 am. Joining Redner’s for the ribbon cutting ceremony and to add commentary will be Alan Levin, Secretary of Economic Development for Delaware along with Georgetown Mayor, Bill West.

Coming  in at about  48,000 square feet, the new Georgetown Warehouse Market at 515 College Park Lane in the Shoppes at College Park will be a full service grocery store offering services such as; in-store bakery, full service deli, fresh produce, and fresh meat & seafood departments, along with frozen, dairy, health and beauty aids/non-foods and grocery departments. The store will employ approximately 135 people in both full and part-time positions .

The store  will feature a gas station with discounts for those buying $100 spent on groceries.

Redner’s Markets, Inc., an employee owned company, currently operates 44 Warehouse Markets and 19 Quick Shoppes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.

The Reading, Pa.  company has targeted downstate Delaware for growth and this month opened a store in Dover. It operates stores that are smaller than Giant and Safeway stores, but larger than those operated by Food Lion, another chain that has expanded in the state.
